E-commerce development for stores that need more than a theme. Custom e-commerce development for marketplaces and digital stores: fast catalogues, Stripe and PayPal payments, automated digital delivery and seller tools.
Our e-commerce development is for businesses that have outgrown a hosted store and its plugins: multi-seller marketplaces, stores that sell downloads or licences, and catalogues with thousands of products and filters. We build the full chain: catalogue and search, cart and checkout, payment webhooks and reconciliation, automated delivery of digital goods, and admin and seller tools. Then we host and monitor it. The code, data and payment accounts stay in your name.
What usually brings online stores to us. The platform no longer fits the business You need several sellers, licence keys, custom pricing or approval steps, and every plugin added to make it work slows the store down and breaks on upgrade.
Payments and orders disagree A customer was charged but the order shows unpaid, or a refund in the gateway never reached the admin panel. Someone reconciles by hand at month end.
Catalogue pages are slow Listing and filter pages take seconds once the catalogue grows, and product content only appears after JavaScript runs, so search engines index it slowly and incompletely.
Digital delivery is manual Files are emailed after someone checks the payment, download links never expire, and support spends its day resending purchases.
Systems we build for e-commerce. Multi-seller marketplaces Seller onboarding and approval, seller dashboards for listings, orders and earnings, commission rules and payout reports, with an admin view across every seller.
Digital product stores Selling templates, courses, media or software, with files in private S3 or MinIO storage released through short-lived signed download links after payment is confirmed.
Catalogue and search Product, variant and attribute models in PostgreSQL or MongoDB, faceted filters, indexed queries and Redis caching so listing pages stay fast as the range grows.
Checkout and payments Stripe, PayPal or the gateway your market needs, driven by signed webhooks, idempotent order updates, refunds and a daily reconciliation report against the gateway.
Order and inventory management Order states, stock levels, invoices, coupons and returns in an admin panel your team can use without a developer.
SEO-ready storefronts Server-rendered product and category pages in Next.js or Angular, with structured data, clean URLs, sitemaps and Core Web Vitals checked before launch.
Integrations Accounting, shipping, CRM, email and analytics tools connected through their APIs, with retries and logging so failed syncs are visible and can be replayed.
Hosting and operations Deployment through CI/CD to your AWS, Azure or own servers, with monitoring on checkout and webhooks, scheduled backups and tested restores.
Engagement options Fixed-scope project For a business that needs a store, marketplace or one major feature built to a clear specification, then handed over.
Discovery of products, payments and order flow Written scope and fixed-price proposal Two-week builds reviewed on staging with test payments Launch, documentation and team training Dedicated team For marketplaces and stores with an ongoing roadmap, billed monthly.
Engineers assigned to your product Shared backlog and fortnightly releases Frontend, backend, payments and DevOps in one team Direct contact with the people writing the code Support retainer For stores already trading, built by us or someone else, that need to stay fast and keep taking payments.
Bug fixes and small changes Security patches and dependency updates Monitoring of checkout, webhooks and uptime Coverage hours and response times agreed in the retainer How it works Discovery We map what you sell, who sells it, how money moves from buyer to seller and what happens after payment, including refunds and failed payments.
Architecture and proposal We design the catalogue data model, payment and delivery flow, integrations and hosting, then send a fixed-scope proposal with milestones.
Build on staging We deliver in two-week increments on a staging store using the gateway's test mode, so you can place orders and try refunds before launch.
Launch and operate We migrate products and customers, switch payments to live keys, set up monitoring and hand over code and documentation. A retainer keeps it running after that.
Why Infigini We have shipped a marketplace Our work includes a marketplace for Power BI templates with a searchable catalogue, Stripe and PayPal payments, automated digital delivery and seller management.
Payments are designed, not bolted on Webhook handling, retries, refunds and reconciliation are planned in the architecture, so the order record and the gateway agree.
We build and we operate The same team writes the store, sets up hosting, caching and backups, and keeps it running after launch.
You own everything Code, databases, payment gateway accounts, cloud accounts and documentation stay in your name from day one. Nothing is locked to us.

Frequently asked questions What does custom e-commerce development include? It covers everything between a product listing and money in your account: the catalogue and search, cart and checkout, payment gateway integration, order and inventory management, delivery of physical or digital goods, admin and seller tools, and the integrations around them. For us it also includes hosting, monitoring and backups, because a store has to keep taking orders long after launch.
Should we build a custom store or use Shopify or WooCommerce? If you sell a standard range of physical products to consumers, a hosted platform is usually cheaper and we will say so. Custom development makes sense when you run a multi-seller marketplace, sell digital goods with licensing, need pricing or approval rules plugins cannot handle, or the platform's fees and limits now cost more than owning the code.
Can you build a multi-vendor marketplace? Yes. A marketplace adds seller onboarding and approval, per-seller listings and orders, commissions, payout reports and dispute handling on top of a normal store. We decide early how money reaches sellers, either through a gateway marketplace product such as Stripe Connect or through scheduled payouts you make yourself, because that choice shapes the data model, seller verification and who holds the funds.
Which payment gateways do you integrate? We have built with Stripe and PayPal, and we integrate other gateways through their APIs when your market needs them. Whichever gateway you use, we confirm orders from signed webhooks rather than the browser redirect, make order updates idempotent so retries do not double-process, and add a reconciliation report so gateway records and orders can be checked against each other.
How do you deliver digital products securely? Files are kept in private object storage such as S3 or MinIO, never in a public folder. Once a payment is confirmed by webhook, the customer gets a signed download link that expires after a short period, and their account keeps a library where they can generate a fresh link later. Download counts and licence keys can be limited per order.
How do you keep a large catalogue fast? We model products, variants and attributes for the way pages are read, index the fields that filters and sorting use, and cache listing and category results in Redis or at the framework level. Product and category pages are rendered on the server so they load quickly and search engines can index them. We measure against real catalogue sizes before launch.
Can you migrate our existing store without losing SEO or orders? Yes. We export products, customers and order history, map old URLs to new ones with permanent redirects, and keep titles, descriptions and structured data. The new store runs on staging against a copy of your data first, and we switch over at a quiet time with the old site kept available for rollback.
How is e-commerce development priced? Projects are quoted at a fixed price after discovery, based on the number of user roles, payment and delivery flows, integrations and the size of the data migration. Dedicated teams are billed monthly. Support retainers are agreed per month based on the scope, coverage hours and response times you need. Tell us what you sell and how, and we will send an estimate.
